End of School Year

First year teaching is over in t minus 7 days. It has been such a whirlwind of a year. First year and at a first year school, it doesn't get any harder than that. Luckily my school is AWESOME. I have fantastic fellow teachers, amazing parents, and an even more terrific class of students. I've been getting all emotional on them these last few days. I can't believe they'll be off to third grade after summer.

I'm running so many ideas in my head of what I want to do with them the last few days. I really want to have them help me make a stool that I can use in my classroom for years to come. I'm looking to do something like this:

I want to combine the colors of the stools, but instead of the yarn and lines, I want them to make thumb print flowers on the top and on the legs. Just have to find a stool to do so.

We're in the works for our Field Day, End of the Year Party, and a special performance by a chorus at our school. I'm working on a slide show for the parents to view and notes for each of my students.

We've started to hit on Multiplication and I finally like the way the book teaches it! These students are rocking when it comes to multiplication. We're doing major reviews in Language Arts and finishing up our last topics in Science (Technology) and Social Studies (Landforms/Bodies of Water).

I had some final meetings today and will have more throughout the week. There's a lot of stuff going on in my personal life (best friend's wedding!!) but my mind is always on school.

What did George Washington Carver invent?
"Presidents!"
