If you are not an educator, you have no idea about how horrendous the week before Spring Break can be. The students are s.i.c.k. of one another (cue the drama) and teachers are s.i.c.k. of waking up early (at least I am!) I have a weekend trip planned then I'm taking a staycation with the boyfriend and our dogs.
This week's poetry plan is all about Acrostic Poems. We wrote poems about Spring, then wrote one that said April Showers (bring) May Flowers.
I've talked about our gym teacher before... he's seriously the best of the best. Here he is letting our Patriot Paloozathon kids duct tape him to a pole. We made sure he was wearing pants, because that would have been pretty painful otherwise.
We watched an awesome 5 minute video on sharks migrating for food, then wrote Acrostic poems about them. How cute is this freebie from Amy Lemons? Love it!
Every girl deserves two long-term best friends in their life. These two girls have been my BEST friends for 14 years. (Side note- that makes me feel old). These girls have been there for me through middle school, high school, college, and post-grad. I am so thankful and lucky to call them BFF. I get to spend this weekend with these girls (and our significant others... but do they really count???) I can't wait for fun times ahead!
I mean, of course this is part of my 5 awesome things.I don't have to wake up at 5:15 until April 21st!
I hope everyone has a safe and fun Spring Break!
