Five for Friday 1/30

I am so incredibly happy. First off, it's Friday. Second, it's jeans day. Third, I'm having a girls night with one of my faves. But most importantly, it's Pay Day. I haven't been paid since December 19th. Six Weeks. Lots of car work. Christmas Presents. Wedding expenses. I've been flat broke for the past two weeks. No more ramen for this girl. I'm getting food truck food tonight, baby. With a side of Amelie's for dessert. Cause I'm rich.... until I pay all of my bills on Monday.

It's been a while since I linked up with Doodle Bug's Teaching, so I wanted to compile a list of my five favorite things from this week. Here's my Five for Friday!

This past weekend, Mr. R's family came to stay with us to go Rehearsal Dinner venue searching. We saw a bunch of great places, but we all knew we had found the spot when we got here. This place is called The Belle Crane Inn. And it is going to go perfect with my whole southern wedding theme I've got going on. I can't wait to gather here with our closest friends and family members and prepare for the big day. Not to mention it's pretty much my dream house (hint hint, Mr. R.). This whole day got me really excited for June! I know this is so cheesy, and I don't care... I can't wait to marry my best friend!

I really hate that I have to cover up the true cuteness of this photo. The kids had a blast this week during our United States Regions study. We traveled to the Northeast and ate Apple Chips with Apple Cider. We stayed in the South and ate cornbread with sweet tea. Then we went to the West to eat blueberry muffins, And today we went to the midwest to try out some caramel corn. Of course we learned a lot about each region, too. They loved the tall tales from each location.
Technically, this is from last week. But I was gone most of the week for leadership training, so I didn't get to brag about it. My students are working hard on the writing process. We've made webs, written rough drafts, edited, and published our writing. I also taught them how to draw a self portrait (I'm an art teacher trapped in a second grade teacher's body!) I was so impressed by both their writing and their drawings. Hard to believe this is from an eight year old!
I am so lucky to have such a tech-savvy teammate. My girl Ms. Howell discovered that if you download ActivInspire on your computer, you can access Promethean Board flipcharts, even if you don't have a promethean board. We have so many good resorces that we haven't been able to access until now because of our 1990's style projectors. I'm super excited to also download Splashtop on my classroom iPad so that I can access the flipcharts, project from my iPad, and be able to let the kids interact with it. I'm nerding out today, yall!

I had to save my last shoutout for this girl right here. This is who I'll be spending my time with tonight. Lots of fun times have been had with this girl!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I've got a goal for myself to do the Currently February on Sunday, so we'll see how that goes!
