Currently April!

I know I posted about April Fool's Day, but I can't get over the fact that it is already APRIL?!?! And not to mention we skipped spring and went straight to summer. I've been breaking a sweat in my apartment all week!

Check out my Currently April from Farley's Monthly Linkup!

Listening- I love second grade, I love it, I love it. But goodness gracious these second graders have a lot to say. I have a lot to say too though, so I think that's why we work together so well. But it's nice to be able to sit in silence for just a minute.

Loving- This weekend is going to be legen.... wait for it.... dary (had to do that due to HIMYM series finale this week- don't spoil it! I'm still catching up on the 8th Season) Anyways, this weekend is my city's yearly festival called Come See Me. It's a pretty big deal for us natives. Friday night is a beach bash (my favorite event) and Saturday is Gourmet Gardens (which is just as good). I get to see my friends, eat some good food, and relax after a long week! Also I'm doing some pretty exciting shopping this weekend. I'll leave you in suspense for now.......

Thinking- I'm a planner. When I was 12, I thought I had my whole life planned out. Become a famous singer, design my own beanie baby, marry a Backstreet Boy... a typical 12 year old girl's fantasy. Well each Monday I start planning for the following week, but I never know all of our upcoming events until the Thursday or Friday before they happen. So I have to calm down my planning-ness and wait until Thursday to finish my newsletter. When I do things last minute, I just can't help to think that I'm forgetting something...

Wanting- Yummy, bad for you, food. I've been trying really hard to pack good lunches for school. I've given up soda and I eat veggies and fruits for snack and lunch. I love veggies and fruit, I really do. But some days you just need some soul food. My man has never had Shrimp Boat (popular restaurant where I live) so I'm picking some up for us tonight. If you have never been to Shrimp Boat before, you have got to go and try their chicken. I know Shrimp Boat sells chicken? Yep it's what they're known for! Bring it on, baby!

Needing- I have not been a good coach's girlfriend this season. I've only gone to one soccer game and I left early because everything on my body had turned to ice. Since it's sunny and 80, I'm there today. Anything for you babe.... unless it's cold.

Hours and Last Day- I love our school hours. I really do. Any time someone mentions lengthening our day, I'm the first to say no with a hundred reasons why not. It's not that I don't want to teach longer... believe me I could teach until 6 everyday and still not feel like we're done. It's just that this is the perfect amount of time for the kiddos. When we used to go until 3:15, the last hour was spent trying to wake them up from their post lunch zombie-ness. I report to school at 7:00 (no later than 7:30) and we can leave at 3:30 (although it's usually 5 for me) And June 6th is later than what it should have been *curse you Snow Days!*

Thanks for checking out my currently!

  1. Hi! I am visiting from Farley's blog. Nice to meet you!
I don't know how 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teachers do it with all the talking. I teach 6th grade and I always schedule quiet time into the lessons (mostly because I need it!).
Good luck to you on all the end of the year madness!

  2. Oh my word I love that you get out at 2 something. I used to dismiss kids at 2 in FL and sometimes I miss it. Sweet Schedule.

  4. Well I'd take some of your warm weather because there's still snow on the ground here in Canada. People here says "Glad it's warming up", but for a girl from Mississippi it's still colder than fall weather here. Ahhh, I was happy but sad How I Met Your Mother is now over :( I liked the way it ended in a happy/sad kind of way.
