Tuesday Timesavers (On a Wednesday!)

Okay, so I'm probably not the best one to be posting about saving time since I'm a day late.... but I just really wanted to link up with The Carolina Blogger!

Time is very precious for everyone. There are some weeks when I feel like time is creeping by, but most of the time it's flying by.

I have a work ethic of work hard, play harder.... later. I cannot relax until I know my to-do list is done. But I also have another very important belief (first-year teachers... pay attention): Never stay at school past 3:30 on a Friday.

So how do I do that, you say? Wednesday is my usual late day (although lately Monday-Thursday are my late days...) I stay on Wednesday and plan everything I need for the next week, then make all of my copies to go along with those plans. It's nice because there is NO copier line. Seriously. I have the copier room all to myself. I could sign a song while copying if I wanted to. Then I can relax on Thursday and Friday. But Friday is my grading day *sigh* so that means I grade during every little break I get. Don't talk to me during planning (jay-kay come talk to me... I like my school friends), I'm grading during snack... I'm grading while stuffing my face with veggies during lunch.... I'm grading while frantically calling out kid's names during dismissal (you get the idea). And then when 3:30 comes around... or 3:25 when no one is looking, I'm outta here!

Try it sometime!

Have a great rest of the week!

  1. Thanks for linking up Amanda!! I love the idea of designating a "late day" and a "grading day." I need to do that. It would make me feel a lot more organized. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to leave school until 4:15 (dismissal is at 3:45) so I will never be able to follow your Friday rule! :(

See ya next Tuesday (or Wednesday) - bring a friend! ;)
